Having trouble getting signal to my t.v....

Having trouble getting signal to my t.v. plus it doesn't work with the controller I bought it for, somehow not compatible? The whole retron line seems shoddy and unreliable. Wish duck hunt could work on hd t.v.s bit sadly, it seems it's never to be played again. So sad after all the excitement and effort
