Lens Hood for Retina 1a
Bought this item for a Kodak Retina 1a that did not have a lens hood & required a slip-on type. Works as designed.
Note: Sometimes the portion that "slips-on" is loose, as was this one. Don't panic. Get a small hose clamp & carefully tighten it down over the slip-on tabs, ever so slightly. Now works great!
Yes I recommend it. Yes it is a good value as one is limited on the types of lens shades available for such cameras. Yes it is good quality as are all Kodak parts if well taken care of..........

If You Need It, You Need It
If you try to connect a flash (Bulb or Electronic) to many older Kodak cameras, you know that several of those cameras use the Kodak Bayonet flash cord connector. No one seems to make flash cords with this type of connector anymore.
You can use an original, but most of the time you will find that the cord itself has become old and brittle, to the point where it denigrates in your hand. And, even it you find one that is in acceptable condition, you are stuck with only being able to use that flash on these certain Kodak cameras with the Kodak Bayonet connector.
Wouldn't it be great if you could use all your other flashes too! With this cord you can. This short cord serves as the flash connection to these unique Kodak cameras. Then all you have to do is connect your normal flash to the other end of this cord, and off you go.......
Again, if this ability is not a concern, don't buy it. But if you wish to have the option to use a wider varity of flashes with these Kodak's, you mus have this cord!

Do It With The Right Tool, or Scrape By
Is this tool a requirement? No. Is it smart to use? Absolutely!
I have done gunsmith work as a hobby for many years. I have drifted sights on and off of firearms many a time. But this tool makes the process so much faster, easier, and reduces the chance of marring the firearm. Why would you not use it? Great construction. Functions easily. Secures the pistol slide solidly.
I used to take a whole list of tools to the range for changing and adjusting sights (Vice, drifts, hammer, etc.....) Now instead, I can just take this tool and its Allen wrench. Quicker and easier!
If you only have a single set of sights to change, the cost of this sight is worth it. Even if you only desire to change windage on your pistol sights, it is worth it for the reduced risk of having an expensive accident to the finish.
One specific bit of advice. It is tempting to remove the old sight and try and installing the new sight with the handgun slide remaining in the tool. Do not do this!. Sights are easy to slightly mis-judge and start crooked. Take the time to remove the slide from the tool. Start the new sight by hand into the slot, then replace the slide again into the tool. This ensures a clean even install.
