You'll learn how the people rebuilt their lives, or tried to.
The book is very well written, using characters and events that really happened. The reader comes away with a clearer idea of how they lived and why they reacted the way they did, including
the lives of freed slaves, and their new circumstances. Life after the war was tough in the South, and you'll learn why.

I'll probably buy more.
Alma's music is wonderful. I'm not really familiar with classical music, but I don't like 200 yr old music. This is contemporary, very creative music!
