Bargain Tube Pre amplifier

I took a chance and purchased this tub preamplifier, it arrived in a timely manner , as described by the seller, to USA. I have it hooked to an Oppo Sonica DAC feeding then Nakamishi SR-20, and a pair of ML LX 16. After few hours of break in period, the sound stage opened up, the sound became warm, silky and very detailed, after introducing this pre amp to my set up. It looks nice, and has 4 analog input. for the output on the back, per the manual included, the High outputs go to an amplifier, while if u r using an integrated amplifier like me, then you need to use the low outputs. when u press the byp button the sound becomes much louder. I did not mess with treble or bass as the sound was really nice the way it is. I have not rolled nay tubes and using only way came with it. this thing is a bargain at the current price,. If you're looking for a tube pre amp and done want to be in the thousands in the hole, this one would fit the bill w/o breaking the bank. My 2 Cents.

nice sound, needs upgrades.

Nice amplifier, you need to roll all the tubes. Nice built, components are ok, not substandard, The main problem is with the potentiometer: low quality, Static when u change volume, Back ground is not totally silent on my 98 db efficient speaker, worsens as you dial volume up. I have mixed feelings about it. i feel it should have lower price , but can be a great project if u can upgrade the power transformers and change the potentiometer. sweet sound of the 2A3's... !!
