ERROR ON HP

I ONLY BUY HP PRODUCTS AND LIKE THE COMPUTER ALTHOUGH IT BEEN HARD TO UPDATE AND AT TIMES I HAVE BEEN GETTING A SCREEN FULL OF NUMBERS OR LETTERS IN THE TYPE BAR. EX: 11111111111111111111111 OR ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ OR EVEN WWWWWWW HAVE TO TURN OFF COMPUTER AND DO A REBOOT TO CLEAR. IT EVEN HAPPENS IN TNE TYPE TO SEARCH BAR ON THE TOOL BAR AT BOTTOM OF COMPUTER.
