An essential addition to the biographies on Holly.
Spencer Leigh has done extensive research and utilises the sources effectively. While he weaves a compelling narrative the sources are allowed to stand for themselves and tell their own stories in their own words. It is a thorough account of both Holly's life and the musical connections subsequent to his death in 1959.

This CD brings new versions by later artists of some classic original cuts from Sun. There are some stand outs by Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Elton.
Not really as I had heard it previously! But it still deserves a UK release even after nearly 20 year gap!

Concise collection of an unforgettable rock star.
Very good sound quality. Also some very thoughtful and apposite sleeve notes.
