Discovering Music Theory, the ABRSM Grade 1 Workbook

A good starter book on Music Theory and from a good source

There are many good books on Music Theory, this one is cleanly laid out, certainly better than others and from an impeccable source. This is a good level for beginners and for those at the intermediate level who want clarification on certain items missed in other texts. Explanation of those darn Italian terms is good.. Two pet hates with it though 1. They have sample questions (great), but no answers, that's just plain annoying - why! 2. Why insist on using old terminology, the world has moved on from crotchets and quavers etc. Just call it a quarter and an eighth note! Otherwise I' m thinking about textiles and eating a snack

Excellent guitar book

Excellent book if you want to understand guitar chords generally as well as for jazz. Although probably not for beginners as there are better more general guitar books, but once you have few chords under your belt, then this is worth looking at.

The DXR range from Yamaha are easy o use (and carry) with t h built class D amplifier making it easy to set up. On there own the DXR15 give a good frequency response, but if you need the extra low thud you can combine with the sub version For most occasions that isn't really required. The two pole mounting options (straight or angled) allows the speakers to be vertically angled into the audience or as a straight throw for larger venues. The DXR15 is the perfect speaker FOH system for small to medium venue or great as a on stage monitor for any venue.
