The Sony Handycam DCR-SX85 exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to start capturing memories with it. If you’re torn between the DCR-SX63 (which has been trending on TikTok and YouTube) and the **DCR-SX85**, I’d definitely recommend going with the SX85.
At first, I was leaning toward the SX63 (released in 2010), but after doing some research, I discovered that the SX85 (2011) offers a few key upgrades. For starters, it has 70x optical zoom compared to the SX63’s 60x. Both camcorders share the same sensor, but the Carl Zeiss lens on the SX85 really makes a difference in image quality – shots look much sharper, while still giving off that nostalgic early 2000s vibe.
What sets the SX85 apart are the extra features, like the golf shot analyzer (perfect if you’re into sports), which the SX63 doesn’t offer. Overall, if you’re after better zoom and enhanced features, while still maintaining the classic video quality of the early-mid 00s, the SX85 is totally worth it!
