Called to be Holy
Oswald has provided an interesting book that deals with the topic of holiness in the life of a Christian. In a number of instances he has provided very valuable insight into scriptural exposition such as in Romans 6-8 and I John 1-3. In contrast, he has made some glaring mistakes. He interprets I John 1:7 as continual cleansing when there is no scriptural basis for his interpretation. (It is based upon an older and incorrect understanding of the Greek present indicative. As a scholar he would have to understand his problem.)
His theology is a new theology without historical precedent. It is somewhat based upon Methodist teachings, but does not completely accept Wesley's concept of sin and sanctification. Perhaps, his beliefs are closer to Keswick.
One great value of his writings are his call to a higher life of holiness than is common in evangelical circles today.

A Plain Account of Christian Perfection
Excellent description of the Methodist doctrine of Christian perfection. Everyone should read this.
