Actually...
Actually, I bought this for my daughter who just had a baby. I bought it on recommendation of my sister and her two daughters, who are newish Moms. Haven't read it myself, but my daughter does seem to like it.

Great book about some great ships.
The Baltimore clippers were an important part of US maritime history, and this book covers their development, construction and uses to the fullest. It's written by a guy who ought to know, since he designed both replica ships, The Pride of Baltimore (lost at sea) and it's replacement, The Pride of Baltimore II,still sailing. There's a lot more information that the casual reader may want but for enthusiasts of sailing ships and ship modelers, it's a goldmine. I'm referring to it extensively as I build a model of The Pride of Baltimore II.

Gorgeous book about tall ships
This is a simply gorgeous book which any fan of the sea and tall ships would love. The pictures are amazing and the accompanying quotes by crews of both Pride of Baltimore ships really add a human element.
