Be aware of claw size
The DW claw is a cast aluminum deal that is for thinner, round hoops... Probably not an issue with many drums, but is too small for my year 2000 Ludwig Maple Classics squared off hoop, and knife into the edge risking splitting it..... No worries, the design allows you to swap out the claw with one that is suitable...... Some claws may be incompatible, though.
Other than that though, I'm very satisfied!!.... Solid as a rock, and does not endanger the hoop as a traditional design clamp would.
