Ecozilla steals all the attention!
11 of 11 found this helpful In 2004 it was released in three versions, and 3 or 4 years later two were dropped (steel case with steel band AND titanium case with PU band). BJ8050-08E is steel cased with a PU band. It is heavier than your Mickey Mouse watch, but this Ecozilla sports a 6 milimeters width mineral glass!
In 2004 it was called huge because of its 48 mm case, however more than 11 years later fashion has changed a lot and it is common to see people wearing wristwatches that are in the range of 45 to 50 mm width.
Nevertheless, this is a scuba diving tool, so size is not the main aspect to consider.
Under the water I could easily see the time, and twist the bezel. And in dark conditions its lume is powerful, you would enjoy looking at those blue marks, that will be glowing for hours.
You will get free conversation subjects thanks to Ecozilla. I strongly recommend to take diving classes first ...
A couple of days I took it to my job and left home my everyday watch Signature/Courageous BL5440. I had no issues about its weight or how the band felt. My shirt sleeve could not cover the Ecozilla as did with the Signature. Yes, the watch is high (18 mm or so).
Additionally there is an engraved figure on the case back. It is and old scuba diver helmet, so if the conversation went beyond the expected, you have and excuse to start taking stuff off.
This watch can be used in conditions where is necessary breathing an air and helio mixture. However, it has no a release valve so that means it will survive to very deep waters, however not inside a chamber with an helio environment.
It has ISO certification for 300 meters and is written in red letters on the front. Also you can read "Professional Divers".
The screw-down crown is very easy to engage it or the opposite.
Until the middle of 2014 this watch had always the code HST on the case back. After that Citizen ommited this HST code. I asked them for the meaning and they did not share it.
I felt that sand got inside the bezel, I used clear water to wash it and the problem was gone. I believe that in the future, the numbers in the bezel could lose their black look, because they seem just painted.
SUMMARY: Do I like this watch? No, I love it.
