Real picture quality in an affordable and pleasing package.
I use a digital SLR but still have a keen interest in film photography, especially the superb quality of mediun format.
I previously owned both the Mamiya 645 super and an M645, the super offers the removable film back of course and a few other advantages but at the expense of the "plastic" construction, I later bought an M645 which has a more solid and aesthetically pleasing feel, the removable back is not fitted, but was not important to me.
An M645 came up on ebay at a "buy it now" or best offer price, it seemed reasonable for a camera in A1 condition.
The M645 is a quality camera capable of superb results, the lenses available are of high quality and plentiful at not too expensive prices, the camera I bought was supplied with the standard 80mm lens and waist level viewfinder, I later bought the PD metering finder which is really a must, the camera then becomes effectively a true SLR.
The mirror up control is an important feature on the M645 for use when using slow shutter speeds where mirror slap could mean unsharp pictures.
Lastly I would just say - get one! you wont regret it,
Best wishes - DB Taunton, Somerset

Still a great camera
A little dated by digital compact standards but still a very capable camera capable of excellent results.
The G series in the Canon range was aimed at the person who wanted more than basic settings and controls and suits the more advanced amateur, the G6 has a good zoom range (4X) and Canons usual sharp lens.
The 7.1 megapixel sensor produces excellent images up to A4, the camera is quite bulky compared with most compacts but has the added feature of an optical viewfinder which is essential when taking a shot in bright sunlight when the LCD screen cannot be seen clearly.
Fun to use and highly recommended, a great easy to carry back up camera rather than a heavy SLR kit.
