Device is ok, but software is buggy
The device works fine, but the software is an issue. In short: I like it, but I'm using different software to control it.
Here's the long story:
There are 3 apps in total - ihc, ihc EU and eRemote. I'm using Android, so I have no idea about iOS.
Problems:
1/ First time ihc could NOT detect and setup and device no matter what. Lot of people on forums said to use the old eRemote app and that worked out for me as well. After setting up the device through that app it showed up in ihc as well.
2/ Both ihc apps require full permissions. Thankfully for the american version you can disable those if you have Android >7 and it will still work. But the EU version just closes if it doesn't have full permissions.
3/ ihc will want to update bypassing the Play store.
4/ Alexa comes on and off. It worked fine a few months ago but now it doesn't detect/control anything
I actually ditched Broadlink's software and now I'm using Home Assistant to control my devices.
It's a bit more limited as everything is an on/off switch, but at least it works all the time
