Shouldn't have had to replace this.

I bought two Samsung DVD players, one for upstairs and another for down. One was defective from the factory but I didn't realize it until the warranty had expired. This was all I needed to fix it. It was cheap and easy, but I wonder how many people had to send their players out for repair and pay top dollar to get them fixed..
