New/Old Grips for my P226
When I first bought my P226, some 30+ years ago, I replaced the original grips with a set of Hogue rubber grips for reasons I can't recall now. Recently my girlfriend was purchasing a new handgun. As I went over the nomenclature and functions of my Glock and comparing it to my Sig I realized how much bigger the rips were on the Sig, due to the Hogue rubber grips. I started to think about my P220 and how I never swapped the grips out, and how much thinner the grips were. Granted the difference in single stack vs. double stack is slightly more, I still decided to swap back to the original grips. And yes, I'm happy I did.
