Really good but needs enhancement
1 of 1 found this helpful We bought three of these track kits for doors in a garage conversion in the New Forest. The general quality of the kit is good but the instructions leave a lot to be desired.
Our main concern is that there is only one soft close unit included with each track rather than the two which are really necessary. Additional ones at £45 from the same seller - prohibitively expensive!
There's no provision for replacing the track carriages when they wear out which is optimistic but I reckon they'll need refurbishing every few years. Straightforward to modify the tracks to allow for this but no coverage in the "instructions".
Some of the screws provided are of dubious quality but standard sizes so no problem to substitute.
So, to sum up, this is a very good kit but you'll need some creativity to make a superb installation from it.

Better than expected!
This is a very nice screen that fits well and is properly bright, unlike a couple of others I've tried. The assembly is good though a couple of screws needed tightening a little to allow it to slip cleanly into the case. The camera, home button and ear speaker work as well as the originals. The connectors are fiddly but that's Apple's design compromise and not the fault of this unit. Well worth buying the pre-assembled kit rather than trying to disassemble and re-use the camera, etc from the broken iPhone. Very happy!

Good enough but not a classic
This little mechless head works quite nicely as an upgrade for a basic system. Mine went into a Discovery mk2 (2003) and replaced the old VDO unit. It drives the LR speakers well and sits nicely in the dash, its green hue blending stylishly with the Disco's dash lights.
You'll need an adapter kit to connect it to the Disco's wiring loom - lots on eBay - including the steering wheel control interface if you have those. The Sony has a 3.5mm jack for those control functions.
The sound is clear, especially from the USB connection (to an iPhone), and goes quite loud enough, thank you. The knobs and buttons are fiddly, it makes silly beeping noises when you turn the engine off, I haven't yet found a way to turn it off (volume to zero is the only route so far) and even though it has an "always live" connection, there doesn't seem to be any way to turn it on when the ignition is off.
So, overall, not bad, good enough for the money but if I was designing it, it would be better.
