The Half-Gone Memory of BoC
Originally released as a joint effort between the monumental Warp and Skam Records, Music Has the Right to Children is one of the defining moments of the modern electronic music landscape. Though Boards of Canada's brotherly duo of Michael and Marcus "Eoin" Sandison have since attracted a massive, sometimes overwhelming cult following, their freshman debut trickled slowly but steadily into the ears and minds of the fringe "IDM" audience accustomed to the likes of label mates Autechre, Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. Though the tools were the same (synthesizer, drum machine, sampler, et al), MHTRTC now stands on its own as a curious, beautiful singularity in modern music. The brief (1:17) kickoff track, "Wildlife Analysis" is a heart-tugging gesture of melody and texture. It is a perfect portal into the following hour of psychaedelic synthetic nostalgia. The following "Eagle in Your Mind" serves as a perfect introduction to the brilliant production and disconcerting depth of Boards of Canada, shifting slowly but steadily as the track progresses (it was later revealed that all of the percussion in this track was carefully sequenced using voice samples). From there, the album flits from simple, gorgeous melody ("Bocuma") to mind-blowingly meticulous programming ("Pete Standing Alone") and a mix of everywhere in between with perfect fluidity. Music Has the Right to Children achieves exactly what the Sandisons intended. It is a time capsule into childhood, from the perspective of the adult mind perpetually reaching back to recapture its simplicity and transitory joy. It is the sound of bleached, half-forgotten memory. It wouldn't be surprising if a time machine constructed by the brothers BoC was used to send a care package of drum machines, samplers, and analogue synthesizers to their 10 year old selves. MHTRTC is the result of this parallel universe, split from time and forever altering the path of future electronic composers and listeners alike.

Secret Upgrade For mid-2010 iMac
Arrived quickly and exactly as described. Installed four of these (32gb) in my mid-2010 iMac - which is supposed to support a max of 16gb of RAM - but lo and behold, it works! System profile reports 32gb. System runs smoother and faster already. Excited to get underway with some 64-bit apps. Thanks!

MY-C-GGR: Fabric cape for Bandai Star Wars General Grievous 1/12 scale Model Kit

A fine addition to my collection!
Incredible piece of miniature soft goods! The material is ideal, the Grievous logo on the back is perfectly applied, the dimensions are totally correct for 1/12 scale, and the stitching is immaculate. The only things missing are the little slots on the inside to fit lightsaber hilts into, but this piece is so amazing otherwise, I can't even dock it a point! A+ work.
