Great concept, but poor execution
6 of 9 found this helpful The unit is a great concept and definitely needed. But getting to the menu's is so klunky; I think it was written by a programming student. And the menu's themselves are so basic and difficult to get around. Since this was manufactured in 2012, there is no excuse for the basic and ugly menu's.
In addition, when you "load" a DVD information, only 1/3 of them automatically load. The others have to be done by hand. AND, you need a PS2 keyboard (seriously?) to do the entry if you don't want to use the remote.
I can't believe this sold for $1200 new, because the menu's have been around for decades (ever turned on the movie channel in a hotel) and loading the information should happen as soon as it sees a new DVD. AND, it should get that information from the Internet; not some obscure reading of headers that isn't a standard.
Very disappointing Sony...
