I'm curious about your thoughts on how different these are from modern ones. I have 4 now of various ages. I'm so glad that you like it. I did have this one dialed in pretty good with the corks, so I'm glad it's working for you. Biggest difference between these and the newer ones is the materials. The older fiber material is a bit different. I can't give specifics, but let's just say it's less cardboard like. The other thing is the stone lining. The originals actually had a thin layer of cement inside the bottom resonator. newer ones have an epoxy typer material.

Quality tool. Easy to use. Does the trick with easy mouthpiece repair!
Used this tool to successfully repair several vintage mouthpieces I own. I actually dropped another one of my mouthpieces on a marble floor about a week after getting this tool, and repaired it like it never happened. I wrote to ask questions before ordering, and they were very quick to respond and answered all of my questions. Highly recommended for any brass player to have one of these to keep handy just in case.
