Excellent 120 or 220 medium format TLR. Great way to start with film.
This is easily one of the best cameras that I own. While it should be noted that this is definitely not a Rolleiflex, Yashica's build quality is beyond reproach. The 8cm f/3.5 lens is clear and sharp with a sweet spot between f/5.6 and f/8, and beautiful bokeh at f/3.5 and f/4. The Copel leaf shutter is crisp but quiet at all speeds. While the light meter is not the most accurate--especially with newer batteries--it is more than adequate. Modern black and white films, and color negatives, and modern processing have such a wide latitude that even 2 stops plus or minus are still within usable range. If you have a chance to purchase one of these cameras, especially below $300 US, by all means buy one. You will not be disappointed.

Great semi-pro 35mm SLR camera
This is definitely one of the best 35mm auto focus SLR cameras that one could buy. It has tons of great features especially the built-in multi-zoom flash. It has a pretty simple learning curve and can use any Canon EF lens (though not EF-S digital). Since Canon made so many of these cameras, one can be bought and serviced rather inexpensively. It is a great pickup for anyone who needs a 35mm SLR with near professional features.

Give the CLE a try; it's worth it.
If you want to get into the Leica M-mount system, Minolta's CLE is a good start. As long as you can get one that's tested, and with a working meter, the CLE is a fantastic camera. Minolta's three Rokkor-M lenses are also very nice. The sharpness and bokeh of the 40mm f/2.0 are superb. As far as value goes, it's hard to find any other interchangeable lens rangefinder in the CLE's price range, not to mention the sophisticated electronics of the Leica M7.
