Decent prefab box. Ok for those who can't build their own.
2 of 2 found this helpful This box is decent. It's not poor, and it's not great. The carpet covering looks fine new but doesn't strike me as something that will last. Particularly, if you live somewhere with significant swings in seasonal weather changes. Hot summers mixed with cold damp winters may likely cause the carpet to separate over time. The terminal cup is very cheap and not of the best quality either. Lastly, the silicone sealant was applied unevenly throughout the inside of the box suggesting these are built by low rent workers at a company with a high turnover rate. So what does all of this mean?
I know it seems like I'm bashing the product or the company but I'm not. This enclosure is available for $85 and that includes free shipping which on something of this size and weight could easily reach $50 or more. Throw in the cost of employee labor and materials and it's not difficult to see that RT enclosures isn't getting huge returns on something like this. It's an extremely competitive industry that's been gutted by Chinese junk peddlers. That being said this is a fantastic enclosure for the price. If you want something better expect to pay in the hundreds of dollars range or learn how to build your own enclosure that's tailored to your vehicle and audio equipment.

Great build quality, amazing fidelity, tricky software
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a great sounding amp. It has impressive features such as clipping indicators that let you know if your gains are set too high. Not too mention balanced inputs and of course the onboard DSP. My one issue is that the entire range of adjustments is done through the software which means you can't set your gain without an external PC. The software was developed around the Windows XP era and getting the software to function on a later operating system like my Windows 10 laptop proved to be a significant challenge as information on how to do so is virtually nonexistent. I discovered during the process that Zapco released an external remote control to adjust all the DSP settings without a PC. I decided this was the route I needed to go as I still hadn't solved the software installation issue on my laptop. I found a new remote control unit on eBay for a very good deal and eagerly awaited it's arrival only to find out that the remote wouldn't interface with my amp due to out of date firmware with the amp. This forced me back onto the software issue on my laptop. After many hours going through old online forums about this line of zapco products and how to force installations on Windows 10 I was finally able to connect my PC to my amp and make the necessary gain and crossover adjustments as well as update my amps firmware which now allowed me to use my external remote. All in all its a fantastic product but there was definitely some questionable decisions made by Zapco with the implementation of the software needed to successfully operate their product. I purchased my amp brand new, never used on eBay. The amp had a birth certificate with a build date of June 2009. This gives you some idea on how old the software is on these amps. If you can get past that issue these amps are 2nd to none.
