This was due to a combination of a bad box choice, unfortunate "load shifting" and some really bad USPS package handling! I have complained to the USPS about it. Seller was very sympathetic and actually provided a refund to me in excess of the shipping costs. I would buy from this seller again. I believe this was a freak occurrence that I'm sure everyone can learn from.

Just what she wanted
I bought this lens as a gift. She loves it, it really allows her to focus on a person or object and leave the background unfocused which is what she wanted. I'd recommend this lens for anyone wanting to take professional quality pictures.
