A nice, classy desk -- but not perfect.
I moved 1000 miles across the country and could not take my hulking, 20 year old office desk with me, so I bought this as a replacement. Assembly personally took me around six or seven hours.
The final, finished desk looks nice. I especially like the cherry finish. There is one place along the top shelf of the desk where screws are visible, though, which could be better -- they actually give you covers for most of the other visible screws or screw holes, but apparently the screws along the top shelf are just there forever.
The keyboard tray is the major issue for me -- mine seems to stick really tightly because some of the sliders seemed a little crooked when I received them. But the real issue with the keyboard tray is the size. On my old desk, my keyboard tray had more than enough space for a keyboard and mouse. The keyboard tray on this Orchard Hills desk seems to be designed for a keyboard only; I CAN squeeze in a mouse, but that doesn't leave any room to center the keyboard, meaning I'd have to sit slightly off to the side of the desk. Instead, I've been using the mouse up on the desktop itself, just above the drawer, but it's beginning to irritate my carpal tunnel syndrome being that high up. The final solution may have to be using a TV tray sitting in front of the drawer, but I'd have to move the tray every time I open the cabinet or the drawer. None of these are ideal solutions.
But it's still a decent desk and I don't regret my purchase, I guess. But even another four extra inches on the keyboard tray would've made this perfect.
