ProMag (2 Pack) Ruger LCP .380 ACP, 10-Round Magazine, RUG 14, Blue Steel
    Oct 26, 2022
Give it a chance. Problems at first but settled into a nice mag.
I have carried an LCP for years now and love it for its size. Since it's only a 6+1, I always wanted a little more capacity. A couple of years ago, I bought one of these 10 rd ProMag magazines and it worked great. I carried it daily and occaisionally used it at the range for a long time and it always worked great. Recently, I misplaced it so I purchased a 2 pack of these magazines to replace it. When I tried them, they both were almost impossible to load even a few rounds and I couldn't get more than 8 loaded at all. Also, an empty mag catches on the slide of the LCP+. It works OK on my LCP II since that pistol is designed to hold the slide back with an empty mag. I almost returned them but after messing with them for a bit, I realized they were just binding on friction. I used a couple drops of gun oil on an empty mag and used a small screwdriver to cycle the spring a few times. Man what a difference. They were much easier to load and I was able to get all 10 rounds loaded. They were still very tight but they did work. Then, I loaded both mags with all 10 rounds and let them set for a few days. Then, manually unloaded and reloaded the mags a few times. After that, they both started working great on both my LCP+ and my LCPII. They are well made and the grip extention is nice but I take it off to make it smaller in my pocket. All in all, they are nice mags and I love having the 10 rds in addition to the 7 in the LCP. Just take a little time to break them in a little and a couple drops of oil helps greatly. It's worth noting that I was just using FMJ ball ammo. I have not tried them with hollow points or any other type. Given the break-in difficulties, I would absolutely get a fair number of rounds through them at the range and make sure they are cycling reliably, before counting on them for personal protection.
