Electric Fuel Pump For 2002-2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Fits Ram 3500 5.9L Diesel

Feels as if I need a fuel pressure regulator
Purchased for my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 common rail Cummins diesel. I have an fuel pressure gauge mounted on the A-pillar of my truck which is pretty much stock otherwise. The truck still retains the factory fuel filter mounted lift pump & was never retrofitted w/ a in tank pump (it takes less than 10 min to switch out the under hood pump). I have owned my truck for more than 10 years & during that time I've had to replace my lift pump 3x. Each pump that I have installed runs at 8 psi at idle, 5 psi WOT. The common rail requires very low pressure unlike it's predessor, the VP44. I've attached a picture of my fuel pressure at idle which is more than double what is required for a stock CP3 injection pump. For this reason, I would not recommend this lift pump.
