Better than expected
I thought these would be junk. Come on, 5 valves for just a bit more than one in the store after taxes. The first time I turned them, they where a bit stuck but after that they where perfect. If I ever need more, I would not hesitate to buy these again!

Cheap is as cheap does
I was being cheap when I bought this and did not know the difference in this one vs a nice quality one (and I still don't). First time I tried it, I failed. I have figured out how to make it work but it is not even designed to hold a full ball of yarn! If you add too much pressure to make a tight ball, it slips gears. If you go too fast, it messes up. Not enough pressure and you get a loose crappy cake. After using it for about an hour, i bought a better one that will be here tomorrow.
The truth is that this one has its place, but not at my house. If you just need a cheap (but tricky) ball winder, this will do that. If you only want to ball up half used yarn, this is a good option.
This item is like a pot that is not flat on the bottom. It will work but it could make a bit of a mess and you will have to watch it closely!

Almost great
1 of 1 found this helpful This item is a beautiful idea and I was so happy when I got it. I was only holding light speaker wire inside cabinets to hide them from view. I snapped them into place and was so vary excited. Then they fell. Again and again. I finally added super glue to hold them in place.
Let me be a bit more specific. I even cleaned off the spot with rubbing alcohol because I wanted to be sure it would stay and it still fell. I think the price was a bit high especially with the cheap adhesive they use.
If you can get it to stick and stay, they are vary nice and can be reopened to remove your cord later! I only hope they make them stick better or make the price better to reflect the cheap glue.
