Full of common sense practical advice. I've bought several copies of this book over the years and keep lending them to friends but never get them back, so I must not be the only one who finds them valuable.

Understanding a Complex Man

While there was a bit more of the political side to Reagan in this biography then I really cared for, I was impressed with how the author used historical context to help us understand this complex man. The book showed both Reagan's passion for creating a more peaceful world, and the compromises he was forced to make because of his own foibles and the circumstances of the society in which he lived. I was touched by his deep devotion to those who served with him, and felt his pain when things went asunder. One interesting surprise for me was learning more about Nancy Reagan and the impact that the assassination attempt on her husband's life had on her. I would have liked to have read more about the family and would have preferred the author have condensed the political background to lessen the length and the heavy tone of the book. All in all, though, it was an interesting read.

Seeing Jesus through the eyes of the disciples.

I started watching the series on network TV and was so enthralled by how well-written it was and how the characters were portrayed by the actors, I decided to invest in the DVDs so I could watch them as often as I wanted, whenever I wanted. Anyone who has a rudimentary knowledge of the Bible will appreciate this series, I think. Just be sure you understand that the background material, while true to the biblical times, is fictionalized to make it easier to for us to relate to how the disciples may have seen Jesus when He walked the earth.
