They work
I think these are very expensive. However, this combination of products really improves the range and performance of the honing guide with chisels. The clamp virtually eliminates blade slippage during honing (just don't press unreasonably hard or hone too quickly or you might just press the blade backwards and spoil the setting). The adapter (using the English spelling) allows the clamp to be used on thick mortice (again using the English spelling) chisels perhaps a little less securely dependant upon how tightly you can finger-tighten knurled brass knobs. If you already have a Mark II Honing Guide then you only need these two products to get their advantages. Do not buy a new, full Narrow Blade Honing Guide. There are common parts with the honing guide you already own.
