Good all round sound
I've been looking for an upgrade path from 2.1 for a while, and not having the forethought to install cabling in the floor when renovating the house, it could well have been a disaster.
With the plethora of Bluetooth devices around I'd expected more wireless options to be around, but sadly there are not. It took a while to find this Sony example and first impressions are that it was worth the wait.
As others have said, this is not full 5.1, but it comes close, especially if your room is mall - medium (mines 5m x 4 m), it fills the space well.
Base is more than adequate, the Sub copes with everything well, and the centre speakers are clear for voice. The rear speakers, whilst not at the level of 5.1 infill the soundscape and definitely contribute to the 3D sound affect, definitely a good buy if you can get them.
The TV is a Sony Bravia, so synchronization is straightforward, and so far no other gremlins have appeared to affect the appreciation of the system. I would definitely recommend this setup as a workable alternative to a wired system, but it won't compete with an AV Receiver and wired speakers. However, it is still something amazing in the wireless department.
If you see the system, buy it, you won't be disappointed.
