Olympus Genuine HLD-7 Power Battery Holder for Olympus OM-D E-M1 US SELLER

Shoot for several hours making jpeg movies

I purchased the Olympus HLD-7 Power Battery Holder to allow me to take extended time exposures at night, and to make jpeg movies requiring several hours of shooting, without having to turn the camera off to change the battery. With the proper set up in the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Camera Menu, the HLD-7 Holder allows me to choose to use the battery in the grip first, then automatically switch to the in-body battery when that one is exhausted. The battery in the holder can be changed on-the-fly, so armed with 2-3 batteries I am good to go for several hours. Obviously, the holder adds bulk and weight to the camera/lens combo, but provides a more convenient way to shoot verticals with an extra shutter button, control dials and dedicated function buttons which can be switched on or off as needed.
