Awkward to use

I didn't realize that you have to screw this gauge on to the valve stem, causing the tire to lose air while putting it on and taking it off. The gauge itself seems accurate enough, but the "hold" button is worthless as it leaks like crazy. You have to read the gauge while it is attached to the tire, then compensate for the air loss is getting the thing off the stem. There doesn't appear to be any way to alter the gauge to allow you to just press it on to the valve stem.
