Does it do the job YOU want it for..?
I 'if-ed' and 'but-ed' a bit as to the advantages of a Wood Mallet.. But this plastic item has a slight "bounce' that works well for me. My first one in this material &, thus far, has been a real success. Feels good in the hand and has just the weight of head that I need. I'm punching through various layers of cloth, foam and thin leather for my current project (a "Judge Dredd" uniform ;-) I'm using a pine block on a modellers mat as a work-base & the combo has worked well.
I DO have a bit of a twitch as how long a work-life the plastic head will have ---- but it's fine at the moment. Replacing a head is not beyond my 'bodger's' skills, so I won't let it fuss me.
An all round good little tool.

Little, But Goes A Long Way...
Has Out-Done my old tube of 'Squadron Green Putty' :-)
Just right for filling the smallest of 'joins'. Drys rock-hard overnight and is easily sanded/filed/carved. Nozzel is a big plus, also. Definately the thing for those really fine jobs.
