Replacement sights for my 629.
I installed these on my 629 mountain revolver. The rear sight plunger did not fit; the hole in the screw head was too small. I installed the rear sight without the plunger and it works fine; it just doesn't click when you adjust it. The plunger could be installed by drilling the hole slightly oversize. This sight set did not come with the plunger and spring. The S&W threads are different than the threads on the provided windage screw and tritium sight so I couldn't use the S&W screw. The front sight requires you to break the red-ramp insert out of the blade and fit the tritium insert into the blade. A triangle-shaped file with a taped or safe edge worked well. I slowly filed the front sight blade and fitted the front sight insert until I was able to press it in. I used some locktite to keep it in place. I used bearing retainer but red would work. It seems quite durable and the sight picture is improved significantly because I can see the sights so much better. The results are impressive; I've always wanted a revolver to have night sights similar to my autos. The 629 with night sights is likely going to be my handgun for hiking and camping in bear country when I don't have a long gun. If you're accustomed to working with guns and S&W sights, you'll likely be able to install these in an hour or two.

Recoil spring is too short.
The recoil spring is too short; it needs a few more coils. The guide rod is good quality. I had to order a new spring (the correct length with more coils) from EGW.
