Logitech UE MEGABOOM Water Resistant Bluetooth Wireless Black Speaker Grade C
Sep 29, 2020
Good, but disposable
This replaces one that, despite its claims of "water-resistance", was never immersed, but seems to have crapped out due to high humidity. Finding repair parts is nearly impossible, the market for them being cannibalized equipment and not parts from the manufacturer. While replacing the battery is significantly easier than the first generation, it's still fairly ridiculous.
Porter Cable 310 Laminate Trimmer Used

They don't make (or sell) them like they used to.
Because Porter Cable was purchased by StanleyBlackandDecker, eBay is going to be the only place to find the high quality PC tools that you used in the past. The finest 1/2 sheet orbital sander, the finest 1/4 sheet orbital sander, and this little gem, all dropped, and not replaced by anything of near commensurate quality.. That these tools are still selling on eBay for, in some cases, usurious prices, might cause SB&D execs to prick up their ears, but these are not tool guys. They are B school grads. The same thinking they evince is why B&D had to buy Dewalt, a manufacturer of high-quality radial arm saws, and slap the Dewalt name onto everything under the sun. The B school boys utterly poisoned the B&D name, selling some of the lousiest tools made in the 70's. I fear the same is happening again. The prices for old PC tools will only continue to rise. Get 'em while you can.
