Many people have opinions on the new stuff packs that come out for The Sims2.
First, we had the Holiday Pack and it added some holiday flair to the game. However, the holiday pack really is for that time of year and not many seem to use these items year-round. This stuff pack did not need to be registered.
Family Fun Stuff pack came out and added nautical themes, princess and shiny knights with dragon decor to the game. Great pack for Sim families, but I have not used much of this pack since I play mostly with adult Sims and build for the exchange.
Glamour Life Stuff, I think, is the best of all three of the packs. There are 60 new items which include: furniture, a new stereo, floor files and wall patterns, a decent amount of new outfits, only one new hair do, lots of wall art and also table decor. This pack adds the ability to decorate your Sim's home with new items and even new bedroom sets. Many of the objects are available in different color combinations too. The new building tools include two new windows, a new door and new archway, which also can all be changed in color combinations. Lots of shiny and metallic accents in this pack.
At first I thought the GLS pack was a bit retro for me and the decor still reminds me of the 70s, but the stuff is still pretty neat. I have used almost every new object from this pack to add home and business lots to The Sims 2 exchange board and really do enjoy it.
Some argue the price for 60 new objects and no new interactions is too much to pay. I agree it's hard for kids to get these packs when they are limited on money, but I am a Sims addict when I begin playing. It can be hard to justify spending $15 or $20 for a stuff pack when you might not even use the items.
I would recommend anyone buying either the Family Fun Stuff or Glamour Life Stuff pack from eBay, to make sure it is new. These stuff packs need to be registered and if you buy it used, you will not be able to register that addition to your game. Both stuff packs require you use that CD to play your game after installing it. Some don't mind not having the icon on their Sims Pages, but many Simmers want the status of showing the world they have it all. If you don't upload items to TS2 site or don't care about registering the pack, then by all means, get a used CD and play. Just remember, you need to register the pack to get credit for owning it. If someone already used the registration code, EAGames will not honor it for you or support you if you have any problems.
If you enjoy decorating for your Sims, like style and artwork, this stuff pack is for you.
I do think it's an excellent addition to TS2. Enjoy!! booey4864 - TS2
