Excellent Biblical Fiction with Two Strong Heroines
Many people have read or heard about the famous story of Queen Esther, the young Jewish girl who marries the king of Persia and saves her people. Ms White wove her story around actual dates and events, adding fictional characters to historical ones. This novel is about Esther, but it is also about her best friend, Kasia-who becomes the favorite concubine of the king. This novel is not for folks who like whitewashed versions of ancient times. The king keeps a large harem full of nasty intrigues, and he can also be cruel and violent. These things are not glossed over. However, Ms White did an excellent job of bringing ancient Persia to life, and giving a fascinating alternative version of Esther's story.

A Love Triangle Without Actual Romance-,and an Intriguing Story
Sister Brigid is a young, overly idealistic nun working at a. Campus Ministry. Father Porter is an older, intelligent and sophisticated priest. And Larry is a happy-go-lucky, irresponsible single dad who perpetually leans on others. Brigid and Porter have a strong, loving friendship with neither one even thinking of breaking their vows. They work together, and provide each other with a hedge against lonliness. But when Brigid becomes overly involved in Larry's complicated issues this friendship is threatened-as well as Brigid's own well-being. This novel fits a lot of emotion, as well as a good plotline, into less than 200 pages. What I found fascinating is that it IS a love triangle- even though the three protagonists don't even share a kiss. In a world obsessed with erotica, this makes for interesting reading. I read this book over 40 years ago, and liked it even better the second time around. Another interesting factor is the book's take on campus life Post- Vatican 2. People who remember this period may enjoy this book.

High Quality Cat Food
My cat's fur looks better, and he looks a lot healthier. He is 16 years old and picky, but he likes this food. An excellent buy.
