I was surprised how easy the H6 is to use. The H4N by comparison is much more complicated. The H6 does not have modes. You can do simple stereo mic recording or six-track recording from the same starting point. You simply press the button for each track you want included in the recording. The large physical knobs make it easy to adjust recording level. No buttons to push. The only negative is my H4N sounds better for basic stereo mic recording. But this H6 is used. Maybe that's why, not sure.

Perfect solution between DVD player and ...
Perfect solution between DVD player and audio amp where the DVD is putting out too much signal. This allows me to attenuate at will.

Solid little mixer with great features
This mixer is solid and has many "pro" features.
Although it uses an adapter for the power, the plug SCREWS INTO its socket. This means it cannot be accidentally pulled out during a performance, silencing the ENTIRE sound system. Every mixer should have this feature, but they don't. Many small mixers use normal adapter plugs.
It is hard to find a tiny mixer like this that has monitor outputs. Not only does this mixer have independently volumed monitor outs, it actually has two output jacks, a left and a right, enabling you to send to two monitors with different mixes achieved by using the individual track pan controls.
Another great feature is the mp3 player. I plug a thumb drive in and it will play the mp3s during band breaks, and when you power off or stop it always picks back up where it left off in the playlist if you have the same thumb drive in.
The sound is good, the construction is solid metal. It is a great little mixer. I like that it has sliders instead of knobs for the main and individual track volumes, and that track 3/4 has the same eq adjusters as the other two XLR inputs. (Many small mixers don't have this feature.)
The only criticism I have (and the ONLY REASON I cannot give it a 5-star rating) is that surprisingly the main outs are not XLR and they are not balanced. It amazes me that they stopped short of providing balanced XLR main outs for such a well designed mixer, but there you have it. The main outs are simply 1/4" jacks. You cannot use your XLR cables to send to your amp or powered speakers.
