Get one
If you need a laser for layout, this is the one to get. Spend the extra $ for the detector because it is a necessity outside unless you work at night. The best feature is the capability to create perpendicular reference lines, not just a cross on the wall. The laser is bright and is easy to see inside where you can control the light level in the room. The mounting accessories are heavy duty and the case is well padded. You get two sets of quality rechargeable batteries and a charger. The detector uses a 9v battery. Too bad it doesn't use the same AA rechargeable batteries as the laser. It would be nice if the detector had a volume control because it is so loud that it will hurt your ears but you definitely won't have any problem hearing it on a noisy construction site or over someone's radio.
If you want to get the best price, get the laser on ebay and the detector directly from PLS, you will save about $100.

Sprayer piston
The piston arm in my SOLO sprayer broke in half after 5 years of use. Replacing this part is the least expensive way to repair your sprayer. Much easier to replace the piston rod and collar than to replace the whole pump. I lubricated the cylinder and piston seal with plumbers waterproof grease. Works as good as new and the whole repair took about 20 minutes.
