Leica Summicron M 2/35 ASPH
Perfect allround lens. Very compact, can always be on the camera. Not too small, can be handled with gloves. This is why we love Leica. Nice angle on the M9, perfect for travel, street and people (maybe not portrait). Aperture 2.0 can be used without visible optical effects and gives natural bokeh. Good handling, especially uncritical to focus. Allows night photography with open aperture and ISO 2500 at 1/20s. Finally it is not cheap, but in a good balance to the camera mentioned.
Considered also Zeiss, Voigtländer or pre-ASPH Leica's, but makes it sense to look especially with such an everyday lens only for the money?
