This is a great little camera at a great price. ($255 for mine.)
I bought this camera primarily for one job where I needed to take high resolution stills of the exact same subject that I was videotaping for a program about an industrial process. I needed to have stills to print in product literature that would be distributed along with the video.
The video camera was shooting over the shoulder of a technician at a very high angle, and the stills had to be shot from just above the camera. This meant that I had to hold the camera with my arms fully extended.
The articulated screen of the S3 allowed me to see and frame the shots perfectly each time. My old camera, in addition to not really being high enough resolution, also forced me to guess at the position while I took a shot; then pull the camera down; turn on the 'view' function to check the framing and; more than likely, shoot two or three more shots before I got it right.
Now that I've owned it for several weeks, however, I've discovered that it's great for a whole lot more than just the reason I bought it. It takes great photos for the price. It is incredibly easy to use. And finally, the 'instant movie' feature is incredibly handy.
Half of my income is from production work and the other have is from music. This camera is easy enough to use that my wife, who describes herself as 'technically challenged' has been able to take great, creative photos of my 9-piece swing band, as well as some very usable video clips for my promotional material.
My only complaints (and this is really trivial) is that it's basically a plastic camera, which means that if you drop it, it's probably toast... you will want to be careful with it. I bought a nifty little hand strap that gives me a really secure grip on the camera, then I bought a camera bag/case that is just exactly the right size to hole the camera in a vertical position (with the left side of the camera down, the lens facing forward, and the grip strap up). The case also has a belt loop, which allow me to always have the camera ready, at a position that's very easy to grab, but very well protected.
A couple other accessories that you will find absolutely necessary are a larger memory card (mine is 2GB) and a card reader. You can use the USB cable adapter that comes with the camera, but that means that you must also use the cumbersome software that comes with it. I prefer the speed and efficiency of the card reader and my trusty Photoshop instead of the tedious, idiot-proof, consumer grade program that comes with it.
Also, you will want to get a good NiMH battery charger and several sets of batteries. The camera is a pretty efficient user of AA batteries, but is still chews them up too quickly to be spending money on a constant stream of alkalines.
All in all, a great camera, that fulfills all my needs, but at only about 5% of the price of the great new Canon DSLR with the on-screen preview (and NO articulated screen!) that I originally wanted to get.
A final note... when I decided that I needed a new camera in this bracket, I checked with three close friends who are pro photogs. The Canon S3 was their unanimous recommendation. Of course, no camera is perfect, nor is any camera right for every person, but if you're seeking a camera in this price range with these features, this one seems to blow the competition completely out of the water.

Remington F5-5800 Men's Electric Shaver Handle ONLY OEM
Feb 27, 2022
Just what I needed. Thanks!!
Have own two Rem 5800 shavers in the past. Really great value. Used them so long that I worn them out. I had just put new head and blades on the last one, so was glad to find this deal that was just the handle/battery section. Put my recently new had and blades on it..... voila'.... just like new again. For my situation, this is the best bargain in electric shavers, bar none.
