Probably great with narrow fret wire. Not so much with wide fretwire.
It's great if you don't have wide fretwire (e.g., Ibanez RG's, which I measured as 0.115 in wide at the bottom and about 0.043 in tall). For this fret wire, both this file and the centered Z file are too narrow at the edges (I measured 0.083 in opening) or alternatevely, the concave surface is too deep so that when the top of the fret is being reduced, so that the shoulders of the file dig into the fret wire, leaving a gouge that has to be filed or sanded out.
With narrower fret wire, it would be great and it does leave a nicely centered line on the marked frets and in that case would probably be pretty speedy. It does cut quickly. With the wider fret wire, I had to go back with a triangular file and sandpaper to remove the scoring toward the bottom of the frets left by the edges of the file and do some shaping to round out the triangular shape left by the file.
