Upgraded and Perfect Fit
The 18 year old toilet base has plastic-on-plastic moving parts in the ball valve which tend to wear and leak. The replacement parts are bronze and plastic. I first bought the repair kit and broke the toilet base trying to get it apart for the parts replacement.
When that base broke I purchased this complete base. MUCH better decision. Now I have essentially a new toilet and with the re-designed and improved parts.
I would suggest to replace the vacuum break at the same time. Mine was failing and it is easy to install at the same time. It is a simple part at the back of the toilet.

NOS-Obsolete but Good!
This is the newer but not the latest Power Gear unit. It is officially obsolete but can be used if the touchpad is correct and it is NOT going on the later version. Power Gear would love to sell a kit for big bucks, but these NOS are good to go. Don’t buy used!
This one is approximately ‘99-‘03 and is very similar to the ‘93-‘98 except for the touchpad. I converted our old one to this one by replacing the touchpad, adding the two 6-pin connectors and 16/6 cable wire. The latest version requires a deeper re-wire and is much more expensive.

NOS-Obsolete but Good!
Power Gear would like to sell the latest version for lots more money. This is the one for 1999-2003(?) but does not work with the latest Power Gear leveling system. My 93-98 version runs on two wires while this one has a six-pin plugin. Be ready to retire the touchpad if you are converting like I did.
