Canon EOS 60D Back Cover Assembly - Repair Part
I had to replace this part after it sustained some water damage. I ordered the part from a Chinese vendor. The part arrived much sooner than I expected. This is a relatively easy part to remove from the camera and then reinstall. Note that the replacement part does not come with instruction. Nor does it come with screws. It is a good idea to map out the location of the screws when removing the part from the camera body and make sure not to loose any of the screws. Once the replacement back cover is installed the camera will operate even if all the screws are missing. Beware of the electric ribbon during installation and/or removal: The ribbon is simply plugged in to a socket on on of the camera electronic board. It easy to plug and unplugged. The new back cover ribbon comes flat out of the package. It needs to be folded (see original ribbon) in order to be plugged in. Be careful not to separate the back cover from the camera too much when the ribbon is plugged in. The ribbon can easily be torn where it form a sharp angle. I hope not to have to do this repair again, but should history repeat itself I will buy this part again.
