Uplifting Mellor Drama

Rather expensive. I wouldn't normally buy a DVD without having viewed something beforehand. However, after enjoying much of Kay Mellor's work, I thought I'd give this a try. The story is set during two decades (Disc One - 50s and Disc Two - 80s). The first part was a tad slow and I much preferred the second featuring Sue Johnston in the lead role. It had you laughing one minute and crying the next. Such a shame that the BBC fails to repeat gems like this. Great cast with lots of familiar faces.

Good for a laugh!!

Definitely worth the money when you compare how much it would be to stream. Thanks to political correctness and idiotic 'woke' pearl clutchers, comedy these days is a rarity. I had originally bought the Christmas special which I found very funny and wanted to see the two series, which preceded it. When the BBC has gems such as this, it is frustrating that they do not repeat them instead of showing Dad's Army almost every week.
