Load sensitive notching is incredible!
The load sensitive notching is incredible! You would swear there was a little diesel engine in your loco as it throttles up when climbing grades and throttles down when coasting. No other manufacturer has it. It is genuinely one of the coolest upgrades I have done in model RR'g.

May be OK for Diesel but buzzing from Speaker on Steam Profile and not loud enough.
It's small and great for N scale or small HO loco's. My only issue is a very annoying humming/buzzing coming from the speaker when set up on Sound profile #7 which is one of the 2 provided sound profiles for steam loco's and of course is the one I need. At times louder than the primary mover/chuffing sound. I tried resetting the the decoder, lowering the volume of about everything, etc... It seems to be fine on the other sound profiles, though I did not try any of them for very long. So it may be great for diesel applications. The humming/buzzing is intermittent and is triggered by turning most of the other functions on and off. I have 2 of these decoders and tried them both with the exact same results. The sound output is also very, very low. I won't be using these again as there are better options on the market at the same price point.
