Not "Universal" as advertised, but only PCM optical audio signal
Description states "Item specifics/Compatible Brand/Universal...Optical Audio". It requires PCM signal, so it won't work with TVs or other devices that only output Dolby, DTS, and/or unprocessed "optical audio" signals. This does not work with the (LG) TV intended, which has no option to change optical signal. I was able to connect to DVD player coax, as it has option to output PCM, which misses coverage for TV channels and Firestick I also wanted to go to the stereo amplifier.

A Media Processor
2 of 3 found this helpful It's great for Netflix and YouTube, and can show phone screen. It does HD well when running application that runs on the Chromecast. Casting video through the phone produces blurry and choppy video. It will not cast computer screen, but just what is in a Chrome browser; I think Google was stubborn there. It therefore does not replace having an HDMI cable from a computer, even to share pictures. It is great for the applications that can run in the Chromecast, and I keep buying more Chromecasts.
