Nice spacious unit to handle various dehydration tasks
I actually purchased this unit not for food dehydration, but to process old audio tapes to deal with "sticky shed syndrome". I have used it successfully to dry out several 7-inch open reel audio tapes, so they could be played back again without disintegrating or gumming up my tape player.
I chose this over a Nesco or Cuisinart unit primarily for the size. It has 4 large trays about 10 inch square, that do not have a center cutout, and can thus comfortably fit 7-inch open reel tapes. In theory, I could dry out 4 tapes at one time, although so far I have only done one at a time.
The unit is easy to operate, has a temperature control on the top, but no stop timer which would be convenient (I think Excalibur makes more expensive units with this feature). It's made mostly of plastic, and feels a little cheap, but does the job just fine. The front door comes off and the tryes come out completely, so it should be easy to clean. It has a 3-prong power cord about 5 feet long. I would definitely recommend it for tape dehydration purposes, and I'll probably give it a try for food dehydration at some point. It seems to have plenty of capacity.

Good replacement for end-of-life product
Recommended for anyone trying to replace this exact style of ceiling light. If you're able to go with a slightly different style, I would recommend a different brand, as these tend to fail after only a few thousand hours of service (claims that these are more reliable than incandescent are bogus in this case)
