The Real Thing
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased the vintage original formulation that I first began wearing and I still love it. I can wear it as faintly or strongly as I wish. Today's formulation, which I stopped wearing, is disappointing and not as clean smelling (it has a distinct unclean aspect that is unpleasant to me). Everyone who has complimented me on it has wanted to purchase it for themselves, though it is hard to find in its true original formula.

Great features throughout this book
Each account of a notable county house in this book draws me in. Most are old castles lovingly maintained or humbly restored, others are more modest but equally fascinating. So far (I'm half way through) the accounts are sprightly written, edited, and interesting, with excellent photography. Nothing pretentious in these pages. If you're an armchair traveler and history buff you will love this volume. Editor Sybil Connolly is known for her deep love and appreciation for Irish craft of all sorts.
