Just like being there
I was intrigued when I was young when I received the FZ MOI Freak Out album. Over time, I bought the 8-track 'Mothermainia', a best of. Later I got Absolutely Free and Were Only in it for the Money! It was an experience listening to each new release. By 1970 there was a new MOI, but this is as close to the original lineup as you're going to get! It was the late 60s in LA. Streams of Consciousness awakening in the youth of '68, along with drugs. But that wasn't Frank! Despite everything, he fed off of everything around him. This was their 2nd gig at the Whiskey and they were taking it by storm. They played some of their 'oldies' (if you were tuned to underground radio on FM). They successfully performed Brown Shoes, Their improvisations are amazing, and the conclusion is stunning. The way this band keys off each other with Frank's cues leaves you pondering why it was kept in the vaults all this time when it was promoted as your chance to add to the excitement of this event! Well worth waiting for It really captures the spirit of the times!

These are the knids of Movies Hollywood should be making!
This is a classic movie, one for the desert island. The performances are great, I believe that it earned many academy awards! We had it on vhs, and it was a long time coming to finally get it on DVD. As good as I remember. The story of Russian Jews at the time of the Czars and their experiences of being driven out of their homeland. This would be about the late 1800's to the very early 20th century. It's one families' story, but it was a reality for many, minus the singing and the dancing of course! I love movies with historic background. Zero Mostell is excellent, as is the entire cast!

It was a time of celebration of being young and escapism from the tumultious early 60's.
"All Summer Long" was the Beach Boys 6th album in 2 years and featured the smash, I Get Around, along w/Wendy, Girls On The Beach, Little Honda-written to advertise the Honda 50cc motor bike, kind of like a scooter. The Hondells had the hit with it, but Brian wrote it so... The title track is also a gem, All Summer Long, and kept the anthem of summertime at the beach as being the most fun you ever had in your young life, unless you were also sporting your driver's license and cruise the main drag. Another piece on this record that was unusual Our Favorite Recording Sessions, 2 minutes of chatter, foibles and other tales of the Capitol Records underground studio, where the majority of the Early Beach Boys albums were recorded. The 2012 remasters give a brighter sound to the originals, the best of the series being the album Surfer Girl and the mono version of their first album, Surfin' U.S.A.
